Hels Sheridan's challenge over at the Sunday Stamper this week made me stray out of my comfort zone to the HOT ZONE of RED. Still, with Umbrella Man along to calm my nerves I was able to pull together a card.
I started out with a few coats of Claudine Helllmuth's Studio paint (dash of red) on water color paper. Then I used two of Tim Holtz's embossing Texture Fades and a bit of ribbon to cover the seam where they met. I layered a stencil over the whole thing and misted with Cranberry Color Wash which toned down the red and made it more interesting, but the stencil was too fine to clearly show the design.
I cut a few gadget gears from colored paper scraps, inked them with black soot and then a coat of Glossy Accents. Stamped Umbrella Man on black cardstock and cut him out, then heat set with Glossy Accents. The butterfly and sentiment are Tim's stamps, stamped on extra painted watercolor paper and covered with Glossy Accents. The sentiment is "It's all perpective." It's hard to take a photo of all these shiny embossed surfaces but I hope this does it justice. I really love the look of the butterfly raised up (she and Umbrella Man are on foam tape.) Used a bit of wire for her antennae. Some Ideology spinners wrap it all up.
As always I truly appreciate your visit. Hope you have a great day!
