I was so excited to be chosen by Eclectic Paperie as a guest blogger for their new art journaling challenge, along with fellow blogger Melody Schwartz. Here's the theme:
So many ways to go with that one! I knew I wanted to show a woman and that I wanted her to fill the page (and this is a small book... only 5.5" X 8.5"). I went with a technique Julie Fei-Fan Balzer taught in a class years ago, where we made our own masks by clipping models from magazines. I like this chick's pose with her hand on her hip and the attitude her body language conveys. I used lots of stamps, Ranger archival inks, paint, Dylusions ink sprays, stencils, and paint pen.
One of the things women are known for is keeping calm and carrying on. One of my favorite teas has "Calm" printed on the tags so I used that in a few places, and added some eyes as we must also be watchful for ourselves, our families, and friends.
