I've used a 5X7 canvase for this week's challenge at StudioL3, where we're focusing on a technique by Tim Holtz using perfect pearls and distress ink reinkers. This piece is also for the 'women' theme at Simon Says Stamp & Show.
I started by coating my canvas with gesso and then spraying it with different blue and green ink sprays by Dyan Reaveley/Dylusions. I laid down three of Tim's time masks and then sprayed over them with a mix of peeled paint reinker + blue stone perfect pearls. Love how the colors play together! All those white spots that show up in the pic are not visible to the naked eye... in person the blues and greens cover all. Is there a trick to covering canvases differently?
I used a Dina Wakley stamp that I'm loving these days - a silhouetted woman with script - as well as a few faces from an unmarked collage stamp. My ladies and sentiment are all in black Archival, and I ran some black paint around the edges.
Thanks for visiting. Hope you have a great day!
Marjie
This is lovely. It feels as if you're branching out a bit; yesterday's and today's pieces have a different feel. Very nice!

Marjie
I particularly love the effect, even though it is serendipitous but the way I cover a canvas is to use baby wipes. By using wipes with paint or ink to rid the white surface of the canvas I can then build up further layers of colour without any white peeking though.
Beautiful sentiment and I also love the way the person is slightly muted instead of having stamped it in black or another solid colour.
A striking canvas full of impact.
