This week at Our Creative Corner our hostess, Vicki Burdick, has asked us to make shaped cards... any shape except a square or rectangle. Some of the design team used templates found on the internet. You can also use diecuts or go freehand. Just not a square or rectangle.
I went with Tim Holtz's cabinet card die (Sizzix). I cut the card and stamped it with a large Hero Arts grid/flower, added a wood Jenny Bowlin button and dots of black Enamel Accents (Ranger) around the whole thing.
I cut the mini styled label (also Tim/Sizzix), stamped it the same way and added tiny paper Scrabble letter stickers from my stash. I added a couple of ancient cream colored eyelets (raise your hand if you bought every color of eyelet available about ten years ago...) and some fiber to tie down the sentiment. It's popped up on foam tape.
Everything is edged in brushed corduroy distress ink.
Thanks so much for the visit. Please pop by the OCC blog and Vicki's blog (It's a Stamp Thing) and join us this week. The challenge is open till midnight on Friday, January 13. Have a great day!

Okay, you got me on that eyelet thing...yes, I have a huge stash of every color. Maybe we need to have a "Let's Use Our Eyelets" challenge - LOL.
Seriously, I love this card - wonderful vintage color palette and I am such a sucker for backgrounds like the ledger paper you used. And those scrabble letters are very cool too. I have that Sizzix die on my wish list! Terrific job on the shape challenge.
Have a terrific weekend.
Hugs,
Linda

This is beautiful Marjie! I've been wanting to try my hand at some shaped cards - but can never find the right dies! Sarah

Marjie, you always know how to create a stunning work of art! This is fabulous! Hooray for eyelets! That is one supply that is seriously neglected in my craft room. I agree with Linda, I think an eyelet challenge is in order. Haha! Hope you had a great weekend! :)
