Here's a new page for my version of Kate Crane's calendar project. I'm also joining Linda Ledbetter's StudioL3 challenge and the current challenges at Simon Says Stamp and Show and Paper Issues. Linda's challenge is based on Tim Holtz's book, the Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2, and this week the focus is on Distress Markers. I used the second of the two techniques Tim outlines on page 50 for this page.
The focus on my page is the new leaf stamps designed by Mario Rossi III. I love the blueprint measurements he's included around them.... so unique! I've used the Sizzix Word Play and Hexagon dies, and dry embossed the letters for added texture.
The markers are reactive to water and you can really do some awesome coloring with them. I finished the page up with some favorite stamps and stencils.
And here's a peek at the finished September:
Ten down, two to go! Thanks for visiting.
I hope you have a great week.
Marjie

Oh, I love these colors!!! They make me want to dance. And what a fun layout for the calendar...vertically instead of horizontal. All this and fluttering leaves and hexagons, too? Your work just fills my heart with joy!

Love your calendar pages! I haven't gotten bit yet by the journaling bug, but this looks like a great way to get started. I just don't get making art pages that are hidden between the covers of a book.

Oh Marjie, your October page is fabulous, I love Mario III's stamps (Only problem is I want them all!) and it is only when I think of them that I get an impression of the size of your calendar pages - wow. The autumnal colours are beautiful and blended so well. The leaves are stunning and love that faux stitching around each section - the whole thing is beautiful. Love September blues too. Crafty hugs, Anne x
