Last week I was lucky to win Wendy Vecchi's new Embossing Pastes, and I played with one of them on these pages. I had started this spread awhile ago, building up color and texture with gel medium and sharpie paint pens through stencils. I added some background stamping with white Brilliance pigment ink.
With the new paste, I used Wendy's heart stencil (in whole and part) along with a brand new border stencil from Stencil Girl Products, designed by Jessica Sporn. I went for a rough look but this paste is smooth and you can easily control it. I like how parts of the blues show through it.
I'll be participating in Jessica's Stencil Test Drive with loads of other artists begining next month. (Click on the link if you'd like to see who and when.) I'm flattered to be in their company and wish Jessica much success with her new line!
The Fun Borders stencil is great as is, and you can also use just parts as I did in scattering some stars and swirls across my page:
Simon Says Stamp and Show has hearts as a theme this week, and I'm linking to Fall Fearless and Fly for their cool colors prompt.
Thanks so much for the visist.
Marjie

Love the fabulous blue background and the way the paste is thinner in places so the colours show through. The textures you have created are just amazing! Hugs, Anne x

Oh wow, Marjie. Your art journal pages are amazing! I love the deep rich, night sky blue backgrounds and the wonderfully textural white hearts. As a matter of fact, all of the stenciling is fabulous! So striking against the blue. Love your design! Thanks for sharing your journal pages with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy

Loving the texture! I esp. love how the colors mingle in the paste- love how you have so many elements but also a strong focal point!

These are gorgeous pages. I love the faded rays and rounds, and then the pop of the embossing paste. So cool how you used the border both as a border and also as a design element on the page. This spread is so vibrant and peaceful, both at the same time! xo PS - and thanks for the shout out about my stencils!!

Wowwwwwwwwwwww!! This is GORGEOUS!! I love love love love the colors, the textures, the hearts!!! And I totally forgot to answer your question the other day about my "Smile" mini album... I'm not lucky enough to own the Cameo (not in the budget! lol!!) ... everything I used on there was from October Afternoon's Midway collection :) Stickers, papers, ephemera ... all of it!! :)
