I'm really enjoying the slow pace this week between Christmas and New Year's. We've been taking time to just relax and enjoy not having to be anywhere at any given time. We've gone to the movies and hung out at home, and today we're heading into the city to view the Warhol and Matisse exhibits at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. One's closing on Monday, and the other just opened earlier this month, so we're excited to catch some 'old' and 'new' all at once.
I've also been playing in my art journal (of course!) and am so glad to be part of the Eclectic Paperie design team, where just next week we're going to start hosting two challenges per month. The first will be an Altered Art challenge beginning on January 3rd, and the second will be a DT member's choice begining on January 17. We're calling that one the eTeam Picks Challenge. I am hosting and get to choose the theme for the first one on January 17th... hope you'll join us! (You can sign up for email alerts of EP blog updates here.)
This page was made with the Sizzix Word Play die, Donna Downey's new Wayward Blooms stamp, a Sizzix texture fade, joint tape from the hardware store, Color Wash by Ranger, and lots of inks, stamps, and stencils. Here's a close-up on the texture from the tape (on the tag) and the texture fade folder (on the letters):
I'll be back Monday. Hope you have a great weekend!
Marjie

So bright and vibrant! At first I thought the texture was paper towel - great tips on using joint tape and embossing folders.

So cool, Marjie... got to break out of my neutrals phase to some colour soon (got some Christmas stash that should help with that) - as this really perked me up when I saw it! Fantastic texture on the lettering, and those DD flowers are really tempting... Hope you're having a great weekend of art-viewing!

Mmmm...love these reds...loverly. I've not had any real studio time...busy doing post holiday clean up...in the house and in the studio. Dale built me a custom shelving unit and I had to tear everything apart and put it back together again. Always good fun. Then, end of year paper work for taxes...and now, finally! I think I am free to create again. My fingers are itchy! Exciting news about the two monthly challenges at EP. I am going to try to enter more challenges this year, as time allows. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
