Hello, friends. I'm happy to share that I've become a Certified Paper-ED™ Instructor for Michaels, and I will be teaching Mixed Media, Journaling, and Scrapbooking Classes at the Mohegan Lake, NY store. Michaels has a new curriculum of Paper-ED™ classes that focus on non-traditional scrapbooking, including Mixed Media.
Additionally, the first Saturday of every month I'll host a 6-hour crop from 3pm-9pm. A crop is typically uninterrupted time for scrapbooking, but we're mixing it up and you're free to bring any kind of papercrafts project you wish, enjoy time meeting other crafters, and use the classroom tools at no additional charge.
Classes are repeated throughout the month, and each one lasts two hours. I've prepped two classes so far - one is a Distress Ink class (yessssssss!) and the other is a ProjectME class, which focuses on the Smash book combination of scrapbooking and art journaling. The cards above include some of the techniques we'll learn in the Distress Ink class, and the spread below is one of those from the ProjectME class.
Classes are $25 and the crop is just $5 for six hours! Pre-registration is required and there's a 48-hour cut-off. I am flexible on timing and can schedule whenever the classroom is free, so if you have a particular day/time available, please let me know. Also if there's anything specific (technique, product, project) you'd like to learn, that would help me choose which classes to offer next.
The full course offerings should be available at Michaels. Here's my current calendar:
Wed., Jan. 23 - 10am-12pm - Distress Inks & Shimmer
Sat., Feb. 1 - 3pm-9pm - Crop
Sun., Feb. 2 - 2-4pm - ProjectME
Fri., Feb. 8 - 10am-12pm - Distress Inks & Shimmer
Wed, Feb. 13 - 10am-12pm - Cards
Sat, Feb. 16 - 10am-12pm - ProjectME
Fri., Feb 22 - 10am-12pm - Cards
Sun., Feb. 24 - 2-4pm - Distress Inks & Shimmer
I hope to see you at the store! Please leave any questions in the Comments and I'll be sure to respond as soon as possible.
And if you're in the neighborhood, please stop by... I'll be demoing in the store today from 3-5pm.
Marjie

If I had wings, I would fly up there and craft my heart out with you. I hope Michael's realizes how lucky they are to have you on board. Do you think if I write them they'll send you to NC?
