Simon Says Stamp and Show is looking for 'something messy' this weekend, and that's my middle name when it comes to spray inks. I love having inky fingers and have to remember when I teach a class to offer gloves to those who feel differently. I was drawn to the birds challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges so I made some trees for these little ones to perch on. The trees are gesso through a stencil:
I had a rough day today starting with a fall on the ice in the driveway and ending with a speeding ticket (42 in a 30!). When I came home to finish this page I decided the message to myself should be RELAX. Or as the officer said, "Slow down, Ma'am."
Also linking to Art Journal Every Day, Carolyn Use Your Words group and the light challenge at Creative Every Day. Thanks for visiting!
Marjie
oooh - I hope your back is ok. and sounds like good advice from the officer, as well as your muse. Love your inky page and those birds. I especially like how you perched them on the stamped writing. Your words, "Relax," are perfect for Carolyn's "Use Your Words" class too! Beautiful, serene blues. xo

I've heard the old saying that life imitates art! I guess sometimes art imitates life too, huh? Sorry that you got the speeding ticket! That sucks. But at least some gorgeous art journal pages were born out of it. :) I love your deep blue backgrounds with the very cool stenciling and ghosted images. I also love the icy tree and the script writing in black. That really looks amazing against the blue background. Thanks for sharing your beautiful art with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy

A speeding ticket- ouch! No wonder you picked such calming blues to do the page in! Love the dimension to the trees! 42 in a 30 isn't really speeding is it? That is just keeping up with traffic!

I got a speeding ticket many moons ago. 53 in a 35. I tried the "I'm dyslexic" excuse but it didn't work! Hope you're ok from your fall. Love your pages, BTW!

Beautiful page. The birds and trees are really pretty. Yeah it is better to slow down. Hope you are not too sore today. I hate when ice is there and you find out too late!

Hi Marjie, sorry to hear about the ticket but even more sorry that you had a fall, hope you are OK? Maybe you should have a warm bath... love your beautiful page, the tree looks a little ghostly and beautiful and I love how you have dotted the birds around. The word Relax seems very appropriate too! Hope you don't suffer too much tomorrow from your fall. Hugs, Anne xx
